Become a Student Trustee at Birkbeck Students’ Union!
Birkbeck Students’ Union has vacancies for Student Trustees to join our Board of Trustees. This opportunity is open to current Birkbeck students who will remain students during the term of office.
If you are interested in helping shape the future direction of the Students’ Union and improving the student experience, we would love to hear from you.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Students’ Union. Trustees help ensure that the Union remains democratic, accountable, financially sustainable and focused on the interests of students. Trustees contribute to decisions about strategy, governance, finance and organisational performance, while acting in the best interests of Birkbeck students.
We want our Board of Trustees to reflect the diversity of Birkbeck students and the different experiences within our community. To broaden the range of voices helping shape the work of the Union, we are particularly interested in hearing from:
- Evening students
- Part-time students
- Postgraduate students
- UK-domiciled (Home) students
We welcome applications from students of all backgrounds and experiences, and you do not need previous trustee experience to apply. Training and support will be provided.
