About Us
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Welcome to the Islamic Society of Birkbeck.
Just this Ramadan I decided to re-open the Isoc. Alhamdulilah already reaching over 100+ members there is clearly a large significant number of Muslims at Birkbeck.
Goals and Society Aims:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ٥٦
"I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me." Quran - Surah Adh-Dhariyat - Ayah 56.
Hence, we would like to prioritise:
Having a separate prayer space dedicated to Muslims since the current multifaith prayer room does tend to get full.
Structuring & appointing members to the society's committee providing a smooth transition to future society leaders.
Hosting / Posting information on Islamic events local or on camps at the university.
Since this is a newly reopened, We kindly request members to be patient as there are a lot of behind the scenes work. جزاك الله خيرا.
Memberships will soon be free if not already. Join the WhatsApp groups via the links below.

Key Contacts:
Rahim Ahmed (Society President): rahmed31@student.bbk.ac.uk
Momina Tarar (Society Vice President): mtarar01@student.bbk.ac.uk
If you are interested in positions on the Isoc board of committee please send a message to the relevant contacts.
Additional Information:
We do not charge a membership fee (however contributions are highly appreciated to help fund the group's activity). This is heavily subsidised by Students' Union funding, as we continue to make extra-curricular activity at Birkbeck as accessible as possible - as it should be! If you are a student from another UoL Institution, we may ask you contribute an amount to ensure a fair and transparent deal for Birkbeck students, and to keep groups affordable and sustainable.
إن شاء الله this maybe a beneficial point for many Muslims from now and the future of Birkbeck.
I leave you in the care of Allah The Exalted
