We are excited to tell you about a fantastic new student volunteering experience with our Student Support team, one of the key components of the SU.

What are Student Advocates?

  • You'll receive training to confidently support your peers and make a real impact.

  • Time commitment: minimum 2 hours a week from September 2025 to July 2026

What will you be doing?

We want this to be a varied and interesting role, so you can gain experience from a wide range of tasks:

  • Creating marketing materials like videos and flyers

  • Helping students with academic issues/appeals and writing statements

  • Helping plan and deliver campaigns like Mental Health Awareness Week and the Food Pantry

  • Collaborate with student societies to highlight key student issues

What are the benefits of volunteering?

This is a very flexible role that allows you to still focus on your own studies. You can gain vital, interesting experience in support work, campaigning, and student representation. You will also be given tailored training.
