What should you write?
The Birkbeck Students' Union Poetry Compeition invites students from all schools and courses to submit poems of any theme or genre. From free verse to sonnets, haikus to spoken word - every style is welcome.
Who will decide on the winners?
All entries will be judged by professional write Kate Rowland, and selected poems will be published in a special Birkbeck SU online anthology, celebrating the voices and lived experiences of our diverse student community.
Poetry is a powerful way to express who we are and how we experience the world. This competition is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow students and share your unique perspective—no matter where or how you study.
🎉 Prizes will be awarded for the top three entires, with special recognition for the best Undergradtae and Postgraduate submissions. The winners will be announced in December 2025, and the winning poems will be displayed on our website.
