What is the Food Pantry and who does it help?
Birkbeck Students’ Union hosts a monthly Food Pantry program tailored to support our student community. The initiative supplies essential non-perishable items, and any necessities students may require. The primary motivation behind our Food Pantry stems from recognising the financial challenges many students face. With expenses like bills and rent, students often find themselves with limited funds, which can exacerbate food insecurity issues.

The SU is now accepting donations of non-perishable items!

  • Your donation can include dry pasta, rice, long life milk, tins of food and anything with a long shelf life!
  • We are also accepting any cleaning and hygiene products like: toothpaste, bodywash and washing up liquid.
  • Please make sure that all donations are unopened and safe, with long lasting dates on them.
  • Contact us if you are interested in volunteering, supporting or are like looking for more information.

How do I get involved?

  1. Look out for the donations points by the SU office and Vice chancellor corridor (more to come!)
  2. Donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, rice, pasta, and more. Every contribution counts!
  3. Spread the word! Share this post and encourage your friends, classmates, and colleagues to join us in supporting this important cause.

Together, we can make a meaningful impact and ensure that no member of our community goes hungry. Let’s rally together and show the power of unity and compassion.

This project is led by William Sarenden.
