Nominating and Voting

To be able to vote or nominate yourself come back to this page once nominations/voting is open and you will be able to nominate yourself/vote below.

Nominating Yourself

If nominating yourself, don't forget to write a small manifesto as to why you are running and why students should vote for you (max 500 words) and select an image for yourself. You will need these to be able to nominate yourself.

Manifesto Example:

"My Name is Harry, I study Artificial intelligence at Birkbeck University. I am running for the Artificial Intelligence Academic Representative because I am passionate about students getting their say in our department. I want to make sure that we have the revertant tools to achieve in our department. My idea is that we should have a termly meeting with the department to talk about student issues which I can raise at Student Parliament and I would like to have more academic networking events available. I think you should vote for me because I am committed to ensuring our department is represented at Student Parliament where real change is created, also I want to help change policy so our classes are more in-person rather than online." (DO NOT REPLICATE)

Once nominations are open (2nd October), log into your student account. Then come back to this page and click "post list" below then click "stand", then select the role you would like to stand for.

Issues

Please double-check check you are using the correct account (a lot of students have two accounts, one that allows them to vote and the other they have created on the website themselves). Please use the same login details as you do with My Birkbeck or Moodle. If this doesn't work please email su-elections@bbk.ac.uk (please include your Student ID number in the email), and email us before the voting deadline otherwise you won't be able to nominate yourself for a role.

Voting

Once voting opens (16th October), log into your student account. They come back to this page and click "post list" and then click "vote", then select the role they would like to vote for. Also under "candidates" you will be able to view the manifestos of those who are running.
