The time has come to make a difference at your Student Union! Nominate yourself now for one of our Volunteer Leadership Roles. We have several exciting opportunities for you to get involved, represent your peers, and drive positive change. Below are the different roles up for grabs:
1. Academic Representatives
Academic Representatives play a crucial role in representing the voices of students in their specific modules and programmes. This is an opportunity for you to collaborate directly with lecturers to address student concerns, enhance the learning experience, and help shape the future of your module or programme.
Important Note: This is not an elected position—all students are encouraged to participate! If you're interested, simply let your lecturer know by 13th October.
2. Student Head of Faculty
This prestigious position is open to one undergraduate (UG) and one postgraduate (PG) student per faculty. Only six students in total will have the opportunity to hold this title, gaining exclusive benefits and opportunities to work closely with faculty leadership to represent the student body.
If you have a strong voice, leadership skills, and a passion for enhancing the student experience within your faculty, this role is perfect for you!
This role is elected on the Students Union Website.
3. Student Parliament Positions
Are you interested in driving university-wide change? Then consider running for a position in the Student Parliament! All roles, including Chair, are up for election this year. As a member of the Student Parliament, you will have the opportunity to lead important discussions, influence policy, and ensure that the needs and concerns of the student body are addressed across the university.
4. Societies/Sports Club/Network Committee Members
Sports & Societies range from sports clubs such as football and dancesport to activities like film nights, mixers and drinks at the bar. The activities are led by the elected Captain/Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer of each Sports and Society. Networks, on the other hand, are spaces for students who share a particular interest or identity. They exist to bring students together, create communities and campaign for change. Acting as committee members for any of these means helping make key decisions and organise events for members.
